Literary Paper Dolls Workshop: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Purple Hibiscus In-Person

This 1.5 hour-long workshop is inspired by the Kyle Hilton’s book, Literary Paper Dolls, published by ChronicleBooks.com. Attendees will collaborate to design a paper dolls book that celebrates and examines the characters from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Purple Hibiscus.  Each participant will contribute one page—including the doll cut-out, clothing change selections and artifacts related to the character, story, location and period.  Participants may choose to add more details about the author or the themes examined in the book. Basic drawing supplies, including various pencils, paper, markers and fabric will be provided, free of charge. The drawings will be digitized and combined into a book; artists who agree to have their art included will receive their originals back.

Note: Limited seating/ Pre-registration is required
