Surviving the Perfect Storm of Deep Fakes, AI, and Fake News: Information Literacy for Politics and American Government In-Person / Online

In an election year the steady rain of Fake News becomes a deluge. How can the average citizen tell the difference between the fraudulent and the facts? The purveyors of Fake News have new and better tools like AI and deep fake videos. What tools do we have to counteract it? Where are the reliable sources of news? How can we maintain a democracy if the people are misinformed? This workshop will provide participants with tools and strategies to survive the storm of Fake News in an election year. Participants will practice using these tools and find reliable information about elections and candidates. This workshop is for anyone who still wants to live in a democracy.
