Faculty Panel: Ethical and Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence in Teaching & Scholarship Online

As generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools become more prevalent, faculty are faced with new opportunities and ethical considerations in their teaching and scholarship. This panel will bring together Montgomery College faculty to discuss how they are navigating the responsible use of AI in traditional classroom settings, experiential learning environments, and their own research. Panelists will share how they set expectations for AI use, how they foster dialogue around ethical considerations, and how they integrate innovation while upholding the core academic goals of critical thinking, effective communication, and information literacy. Join us for a timely and practical discussion on integrating AI thoughtfully and responsibly into our academic work.

Learning Outcomes: After attending this session, participants will be able to describe a variety of ways that MC faculty approach the use of AI while balancing ethical considerations and innovation.
